Biography

I am a Film Director, Photographer, and Drone Pilot based in Nairobi, Kenya. My work explores the landscapes, people, wildlife, cultures, and cities of East Africa and beyond. Photography and film have become my tools for storytelling, allowing me to document the vibrant mosaic of life across this beautiful and diverse continent.

My journey into photography began with a growing urge to express myself. After my first trip to Samburu many years ago, I was captivated by the ever-changing landscapes, intricate patterns, vivid colors, and the essence of the people I encountered. Words alone were not enough to convey what I experienced, so I turned to photography and film as my voice.

A deep love for culture and human stories was inspired by my grandmother’s captivating folk tales and my upbringing in the cultural traditions of Eastern Uganda. Now, as I travel across Africa, I am constantly moved by its rich cultures, profound history, and vibrant people. These experiences fuel my creativity and drive to showcase the continent’s beauty through my lens.

For me, photography and film are tools of reflection and preservation. They allow me to document the rhythm and essence of people—their way of life, food, laughter, and history—and to share these stories with the world.

I am currently working on a documentary titled The Last Ones, which highlights the traditional practices of communities such as the Oromo, Samburu, Gabra, Bukusu, and Pokot. This project celebrates the beauty of these traditions while addressing the challenges of their gradual erosion.

Through my work, I aim to inspire a deeper appreciation for the rich diversity of our world and to preserve the stories that connect us all.
